Sweet Dreams

You may be wondering, "Wow! How is she able to get in all of these blog entries in the same night?" All 3 kids were asleep by 8:00!!! We had a very busy (and fun) weekend and I think they were just exhausted!! Tony's teaching at Ivy Tech, so while I'm waiting on the laundry, I thought I would blog. I haven't taken pictures of them sleeping for a long time ...I've forgotten how much I love to just watch them sleep!! I'll wait awhile, and then transfer everyone to their own bed.
Please note Blair's quilt. Sharon made this for Blair as a birthday present!! Isn't it the cutest thing? I LOVE it!! It's so soft and fluffy! The colors are adorable, and it's the perfect size! Sharon is so talented at so many things! I keep telling Tony that some day when we are both not so busy, I want her to teach me to sew. We also keep saying that we want to scrapbook together, too! We actually talked to someone who goes to a monthly workshop ...that's something I plan to look into!
If there's anybody out there reading this that likes to scrapbook, let me know. Maybe we can create our own monthly scrapbooking club! I desperately need to catch up.

AWANA Awards Night

Micah finished her first year in AWANA and Cubbies!! She was so excited to get the Cubbie Bear and 3 patches for her vest!! Rhett finished his 3rd year in AWANA and 1st year in Sparks!! He received an attendance jewel, red jewel, a Sparky pin, and a patch for his vest. He almost completed his book. He still needs to learn John 1:1-4 and bring a visitor. He will start right where he left off when AWANA starts back in the Fall. I am so proud of both of them. It's hard to learn Bible verses! It's amazing what they can remember. It's awesome to think that they will hide these verses in their heart and are building such a strong foundation in the Word of God. I only hope I will learn just as much as they are learning, as I help them each week with their books.

Great Weekend

Friday night, Sharon and Herb called to invite Rhett and Micah to spend the night (they had Brian Anthony as well). They kept Blair so Tony and I could have our "date night" and then we picked her up. (I don't know why they didn't think they could handle her too! ;) LOL) Tony and I grabbed a quick bite, went to make a hospital visit, and ended up at Lowes ...a nice change from the typical Wal-Mart/Target!!
We met up with Sharon and the kids Saturday morning at Devin's soccer game and then grabbed lunch at Qdoba (yum!). That afternoon, Tony mowed the grass and I worked on getting the Goodwill piles together, packing away the rest of the winter clothes, going through toys, etc. We stopped to go to a surprise 50th Birthday party for Becky and then came back to finish up. The kids played with the neighbors while Tony finished mowing, and I swept the garage and porch. We actually got a lot accomplished!!! (Jak, I used that word just for you!!) Damon ended up taking all of the Goodwill bags/boxes for me ...yeah! One less thing from my to-do list.
On Sunday Tony took Rhett, Seth, and Luke to the Bats game and Micah went home with Brian Anthony. That left me in a quiet house all alone with Blair. We hung out, sang some songs, read some books, etc. Her new thing is reading! She absolutely loves books, but wants you to read the same book over and over!! She played while I did bills, we took a nap, and then I worked on school stuff while she played with her babies. Sunday night was the AWANA Awards program and then we went up to Beth and Josh's to see their new house. It's so nice!! They already looked settled and unpacked!! It's so peaceful and quiet out there. The area is so pretty!!

Opening Day 2008

I promised Tony that I would create a blog entry to show the turkey he shot on Opening Day of Turkey Season. Tony said that when Rhett saw it for the first time he said, "It looks LITTLE!!" Not quite the way to boost your dad's hunting ego!! LOL Micah was all into the feathers and asked him a ton of questions about his hunting experience (typical girl). Blair just wanted to "pet"it!! I don't think she understood that it was dead.
It weighed 22 pounds and the spurs were 31 mm (??????) I'm not into hunting, but I'm sure this means something to those who are!! Johnny went with Tony and did the guiding/calling for him.

Congratulations Karen!!

I forgot to take pictures at the reception, but Tony must have taken this one! Karen's wedding was absolutely beautiful- her dress, the flowers, the flower girls, the song selection, the dedication to her parents in the program, the classy reception! Karen and Kristen did an excellent job planning all of the details. She was a beautiful bride (Jonathon looked pretty handsome in his uniform as well!!)!

Little League Tee Ball

It's Tee-Ball time, ready or not!!! Rhett's team is the Cubs and Tony is the coach! Who would have thought they would see Tony wearing any team other than a Braves hat? (Nick, can you believe it? One of my first memories of Rhett's sports career is of you buying him a tiny Atlanta Braves plush hatchet!) He's had 3 games so far and he absolutely LOVES it! He cried and didn't want to play the first practice, but I think he was just nervous about trying something new. Rhett knows several of his teammates from church and school and has even made some new friends. I guess Tony's coaching career has only just begun! ;) Rhett's doing great so far ... he hasn't even had to use the tee. I think the rule is to pitch 5 balls and then let them use the tee.

We took a pause on a hectic Sunday morning before church to take a picture of them when I realized they were all wearing mint green. It's almost impossible to get a good picture where all 3 of them are looking at the camera and smiling at the same time.

Spring Break in Gatlinburg

On the way home, I gave Blair a banana to keep her quiet. Tony and I started talking and I had forgotten about the banana. Tony said, "What's that all over Blair's face?" I turned around and realized I had left her alone with her banana! She had it all over her face and body, in her hair, rubbed into her jeans, etc. She was a mess!!!!

We are standing outside the Wonder Works building. The kids really enjoyed this indoor Science center!
Micah and Rhett would have been just as happy if we would have never even left the hotel!! They loved swimming and hanging out in the hotel room.
Bree Anne was Micah's personal assistant and catered to her every need (Micah was in heaven!). Desiree entertained Blair the whole trip. Rhett thought he was so cool hanging out with Travis and Devin. Tony and I actually got to relax and enjoy ourselves! Thanks to Tabby and Danny's kids and their friends, we had a great time!!
Tony was in charge of the day at the Smoky National Park. Plan A was to hike up to the highest point at the lookout station. It wasn't open until mid April. Plan B was to go to Cade's Cove and take a couple of small hikes. Here are the guys with their "backpacks" on our hike! ;)
Everyone is waiting for Tony to figure out a plan for the day.

Blair hanging out with Desiree!
Rhett posing in an Astronaut costume at Wonder Works.
Micah taking time for a picture at Wonder Works.
We were waiting on the guys to finish their Laser Tag game.
Blair needed to take a snack break!
On Spring Break we went with Tabby's family to Gatlinburg. The weather was nice and we really had a great time! Tabby let her kids each take a friend (great idea) and all the kids did a great job entertaining each other. We went to Wonder Works, played miniature golf, shopped, swam at the hotel pool, walked through Gatlinburg, went on a hike in the National Park, and went on a Jurrasic Boat ride. We left on the Monday of Spring Break and came home on Thursday. It was nice to get away and have some quality family time!
